true north brass
2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 23, 2023 (Matinée)
True North Brass has been a prominent fixture on the brass chamber music landscape for more than 20 years. In 2018, with new membership, a new sound and new repertoire, the group reemerged onto the Canadian and international concert stage, reestablishing itself as one of the world’s finest brass ensembles. With some of Canada’s most prominent orchestral brass players, the new True North Brass is equally at home in recital, in music education or collaborating with symphony orchestras. ARTIST WEBSITE.

Winner of the 2021 Steve Martin banjo prize, Don Vappie is also being inducted into the Banjo Hall of Fame. ARTIST WEBSITE.
ABOUT us
With a loyal following for more than 50 years, the non-profit Kelowna Community Concert Association presents five first-class concerts a year, generally between September and May. Only professional artists of international and national stature and acclaim are selected to present a variety of music, theatre and dance with wide audience appeal.
Run entirely by volunteers, the KCCA receives no outside funding and does not solicit sponsors. By pre-selling affordable memberships, we ensure that the Kelowna Community Theatre has a full house for each of our performances. Each year we also donate two $500 scholarships to students of the Kelowna Community Music School.
Volunteers help with backstage refreshments for performers, mail-outs to members, stage managing, hosting receptions and floral arrangements. We’re extremely grateful to our volunteers, who enable us to present these professional concerts at such a reasonable cost.
